How to Buy Your First Sewing Machine
By Cherie Durbin
1. Decide which features you will need on your sewing machine. Jot these features down and take your list with you to the store. 2. Avoid buying a sewing machine from places like WalMart. These machines are low-priced, but they are often also low-quality. 3. Visit a sewing machine dealer. Most dealers have floor models that you can test. Consider a used model if it comes with a warranty. 4. Ask about service. Will the store repair the machine for you, or will it have to be sent off to a repair facility? 5. Choose a machine you feel comfortable using. If you are afraid of a machine (or have to fight it), you will never use it. |
